Krystal Klein

HighNote & Rhapsody Winner of

2nd Annual IABOI Music Competition 2013

Singing since the age of five, Krystal Klein has been ready to share her vocal talents with the world. She got her start as a singer in the youth choir of her church and school. Heavily influenced by classic soul and R&B, she sites Whitney Houston, CeCe Winans, and Anita Baker as early inspirations. Growing up around music, Krystal even auditioned for the television show, American Idol.

In 2009, Krystal Klein began work on her debut EP. From this pursuit, she was able to add the title of "songwriter " to her list of accomplishments.

"When I came up with the concept for this song, I was actually trying to write a song that would talk about having a deep unwavering love for someone-the type of love that only comes once in a lifetime. It started out as a typical R&B song however I decided to make something that could also be considered contemporary gospel. It was also a song in which I wanted to push myself vocally and just put my all into the performance because it is a very emotional song. I wanted the audience to really feel the lyrics because either they have felt that very same way at some point or they are still searching for that kind of love. "

-Krystal Klein

"I wanted to make a song that was just about feeling good. One Sunday I went to the Laundromat and took my tablet with me...As I was writing, I was just thinking about all the trials I had been through from trying to find a job, being discouraged, and struggling to provide for my family. I wrote the entire song while washing a load of clothes... a song of celebration because although I was going through it, I knew that He would bring me out. The song is about a celebration of life and love- no matter what your situation may be. It’s hard, but believe me, as cliché as it may sound, you really have to have faith, remain positive and know that in the end it’s all going to be alright. "
